Yuma Co. Interfaith Impacts Results in $21M Bond Election for Public Schools
Midway through a multi-year civic education campaign concerning public school funding, Yuma County Interfaith leaders supported passage of a $21 Million infrastructure bond for Yuma School District One in an election that succeeded by 1,500 votes. Leaders are continuing the education push through civic academies in surrounding school districts - including sessions with administrative personnel, staff, principals and parents.
Yuma County Interfaith Pinpoints Challenges to Families
Said Bishop Gerald Kicanas of the Tucson Catholic Diocese, "We have a responsibility to be involved in our community and not be peripheral to the community, not to be indifferent to the issues facing our community. And if we can pull together to address those societal issues, we have a chance to make an impact."
