North Bay Sponsoring Committee Changes Vehicle Impoundment Policies in Sonoma County

Leaders of the North Bay Sponsoring Committee leaders succeed in changing vehicle impoundment policies of law enforcement agencies in Sonoma County to respond to concerns about extreme penalties for undocumented families. This victory is the result of a house meeting campaign involving hundreds of congregational leaders across Sonoma County, and negotiations with multiple law enforcement agencies.

The following law enforcement bodies have modified their vehicle impoundment policies as a result of the work of the NBSC: Sonoma County Sheriff Department (including Sonoma and Windsor police departments), Petaluma Police Department and Sebastopol Police Department. The California Highway Patrol also allows its officers much flexibility.
