Twelve immigrant rights organizations have filed an appeal with the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in response to a ruling that upheld the Trump administration’s decision to terminate nationwide Know Your Rights legal orientation programs for unrepresented immigrants. The decision undermines programs that have provided a basic level of due process for decades and have a history of bipartisan support.

According to an agreement obtained by The Associated Press, ICE will be given access to the personal data of the nation's 79 million Medicaid enrollees, including home addresses and ethnicities, to track down immigrants who may not be living legally in the U.S.

H.R. 4393 was introduced on July 15th, 2025 in an effort to strengthen border security, provide undocumented individuals with an opportunity to obtain legal status if they meet certain requirements, and update aspects of the U.S. legal immigration system. Colorado Rapid Response Network, a coalition of immigration, religious, and legal nonprofits, including ACLU Colorado and American Friends Service Committee, amasses 3,000 volunteers across the state to run what they call a neighborhood watch to document unwanted activities and inform residents. “The purpose is to make sure people have the facts and that we try to dissuade some fear,” said Lane-Arellano, Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition. “Because what the Trump administration wants is for our people to be afraid all the time.” More here.

Immigration Hotlines gathered by National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights allow callers to report raids in their areas, seek help if being detained or at risk of being deported, and report missing migrants.

An Economic Policy Institute Report finds that the administration's goals of deporting 4 million people over 4 years will curtail business operations and reduce employer demand for immigrant and U.S.-born labor, eliminating 6 million jobs, particularly in construction and child care. California, Florida, New York, and Texas will have the highest number of job losses due to larger immigrant populations in these states. 

Together West Michigan completed its second accompaniment with a man with final order of removal this week. The delegation to the ICE Office consisted of 4 sisters, 3 lay leaders, a bilingual priest, and their organizer. Within 12 minutes, the man was permitted to walk out and take his flight as previously planned on his own terms. In the process, relationships were forged and trust built as the team helps the family plan their next steps.

California Collaborative for Immigrant Justice celebrates the release of Bay Area community organizer Guillermo Medina Reyes, who was accompanied by 100 community members to his appointment with ICE in San Jose. ICE intended to re-detain him until U.S. District Judge Rita Lin granted him a Temporary Restraining Order. 

Despite official rhetoric about focusing on violent criminals, the overwhelming majority (65%) of people booked by ICE this year have no record of criminal convictions, nor of violence (93%). The libertarian think-tank CATO Institute examined US Custom & Border Patrol data from January 12 to June 14 and note that roaming the streets and workplaces to apprehend immigrants not only increased dramatically, the manner it has done so is "indiscriminate, unfocused, and chaotic."  More from CATO.
